Founder of ATN in 1985 and a former ocean racer, Etienne Giroire realised over time that there was no effective spinnaker system after using all those available on the market at the time, which remained unreliable even when handled by an experienced crew.
To date, every winner of the Vendée Globe Race has carried an ATN spinnaker sock, as have thousands of sailors around the world!
