Even on a sailboat such as the Knierim, 49-foot Judel / Vrolijk plane fitted with the Leisure Furl boom, hoisting, furling or lowering the mainsail is still a one-person operation. In complete safety from the cockpit, the reduction of the mainsail is limitless because each batten position is a reef: no need for a lazy-bag or sending a crew to the foot of the mast in bad weather!
On the performance side, unlike other furling mainsail systems, Leisure Furl ™ accepts sails with more volume to improve performance in light winds. Each boom is necked at the end to give a nice line and save weight.
